Currently, all Tyson Team Members and facility visitors must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. It will be a requirement to confirm vaccination status prior to entering the facility.
This position is responsible for planning and supervising the execution of cost effective and timely maintenance necessary for the operation of equipment and overall plant operations. This includes directing, coordinating and supporting maintenance personnel, working with contractors, vendors or company engineering in the modification or installation of equipment, and troubleshooting and resolving new and/or different technical problems regarding equipment, parts, and supplies. Other responsibilities include maintaining relevant records, ensuring OSHA standards and programs are being implemented, instructing in the use of personal protective equipment; insuring that quality and productivity requirements for materials, and inventory control are met; use proper transaction codes for all inventory transactions; manage issues involving product and/or process nonconformance; coordinating team member schedules, handling clock reports and attendance records; holding monthly safety meeting; MSDS - maintain MSDS binder for maintenance and enforce the policy; manage universal waste and hazardous waste: collect, store and dispose according to OSHA and Tyson. Manage recycle program and performing other duties as the need arises.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or two years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education preferred.
Experience: 3 plus years. Maintenance supervisory experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills, for example generating spreadsheets or creating simple queries and data output using fourth generation language; knowledge of the Tyson Business Computer System.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual skills are a plus. Travel: 1-2 times per year.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Must be able to supervise a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related maintenance task or activities.
