3rd shift: 10:00pm - 6:30am
SUMMARY: Performing as part of a team that maintains and repairs machines in a production setting, including preventive maintenance and identifying solutions to better meet performance goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
Set up equipment or machines
Adjust production machines and related equipment, according to maintenance schedule, manufacturer's service manuals and production tolerances
Inspect machines and troubleshoot to detect potential malfunctions
Replace repaired parts or install new parts to restore machine to operating condition
Lubricate grease fittings and moving parts of machine and other preventive maintenance requirements as directed by supervisors
Complete Preventive Maintenance and work orders in a timely manner
Work within safety guidelines at all times
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to use hand tools and trades type tools
Ability to learn new processes with minimal supervision
Basic knowledge of electrical motors
Ability to troubleshoot a variety of machines
General knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, compressed air and welding
Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner
Understand and follow oral and written direction
Ability to work independently and as a team
Ability to perform duties listed on Mechanic Level I checklist
Strong mechanical background required
Must be at least 18yrs of age
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Education and/or Experience:
Associates degree in Mechanics/Automotive or Electrical Technology preferred
1-2 years’ experience in Facility Maintenance and/or Automotive Mechanic
Communication Skills:
Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language in order to communicate well
Physical Requirements / Environment:
Stand/Walk: Continuously throughout shift
Lift/Carry: Frequently (1-10 lbs), Occasionally as required with assistance (up to 35-50 lbs.)
Other Physical Requirements:
Frequently; bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb, reach above shoulder (2-3 ft.), crouch, kneel, push/pull, grasp
Physical Environment: Continuously: Working around moving machinery, working in a damp, slippery and cold environment (Below 40° F)
working around moving machinery, in areas with marked changes in temperature and humidity, exposure to dust and fumes, occasionally working at unprotected heights, around and amongst dead birds and a strong chicken odor, some tight or confined space areas
