SUMMARY: The Maintenance Superintendent will lead a team to maintain the facility’s property and equipment to supply maximum available uptime for production, quality, and yields while ensuring the safest work environment possible.
Responsibilities:
Fully participate in all Tyson programs and live the company's values while leading others in a fast-paced environment across multiple shifts, primarily afternoon and overnight shifts.
Assist with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions; Ensuring all safety health OSHA, FSQA, and environmental policies and procedures comply with company policy and local state and federal regulations.
Provide a safe workplace by ensuring all required safety, FSQA, environmental and administrative training is completed, on time.
Ensure that all maintenance personnel are properly trained on the most updated version of operating equipment as well as other maintenance skills.
Continuously monitor plant equipment and systems operations to minimize unplanned downtime while anticipating and solving problems promptly.
Prioritize projects and competing demands while sustaining production.
Utilize a computerized maintenance management system (SAP) for tracking and managing work orders.
Support the maintenance budget, equipment upkeep strategy, and goals of the Production team.
Make recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems through analyzing data and taking prompt action.
Perform all other aspects of maintaining direct reports with a customer-centric attitude.
Need to have good interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, and delegating abilities.
REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires an essential understanding of maintenance continuous improvement processes, and accurate record-keeping utilizing the plant’s CMMS.
Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: 6 plus years of maintenance experience with a background in leadership roles.
Computer Skills: MS Office, CMMS (SAP PM preferred)
Preferred:
Special Skills: Knowledge of conveyors, Multi-vac, meat processing equipment, labelers, palletizing, x-ray equipment, robotics, or vision systems highly desired. HACCP, GMP, and Continuous Improvement skills or certifications highly desired. Knowledge of electrical; high and low voltage, AC/DC, VFD’s, PLC’s and automation highly desired.
Travel: 1-5 domestic trips per year.
