SUMMARY:
This position is response for inventory control in the maintenance shop, as well as receiving and storing parts, maintenance supplies, and miscellaneous receivers while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The Parts Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining resources for the facility’s equipment and to supply maximum available uptime for production, quality, and yields, while creating the safest work environment possible. This position requires an essential understanding of maintenance continuous improvement processes, accurate record keeping, and utilizing the plants computerized SAP system.
Tasks:
All parts charged to correct work orders and equipment.
Ensure that the parts room is always secure while on duty.
Ensure that the inventory and cycle count is complete, on time, and accurate.
Follow requisition process.
Ensure special parts orders are only for what will be directly utilized on the repairs with no extras.
Work with Maintenance Management on Slow Moving and Obsolete (SL/OB) parts and processes.
Ensure all new inventories are listed on the correct equipment Bill of Material (EBOM).
Maintain 5S standards.
Weekly report to maintenance management team on the parts status of: open work orders waiting on parts; open work orders for which all parts are available; open work orders for outside services (contractors); and parts value along with # of days onsite for items on work order shelf and/or kitting area.
Complete Daily / Weekly Reporting.
Be an ongoing resource for problem solving within scope of responsibility and suggest possible resolutions to the proper management.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
High school diploma. Some college preferred.
Experience:
Minimum two years’ office experience required. Accounting or parts purchasing background preferred.
Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office proficient. Prefer to be proficient in SAP or other parts tracking program.
Communication Skills:
Must always be able to communicate in a courteous and professional manner.
Must be able to read inventory sheets, parts orders, email correspondences, etc. as related to the job.
Must be able to write required information for ordering parts, email correspondences, and other required job-related documentation.
Special Skills:
Requires flexibility of wrists and hands. Walking, bending, standing and some lifting required. Lifting of up to 30 lbs. Must be able to move heavy objects (100 lbs.) with mechanical device. Must be able to perform essential functions of job with or without reasonable accommodations.
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide to accurately inventory parts, reorder parts in correct quantities, etc. as related to the job.
Must be able to work competently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
